Selection Process
Ï㽶ֱ²¥ participates in the for selection of new residents. The selection process at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center begins only when the application is complete. Applications are considered on a rolling basis, beginning September 1 and ending December 31. It is highly recommended that applicants complete their file as soon as possible. Selected applicants will be notified if an interview has been granted. Please note that applicants are responsible for ensuring that their application file is complete.

US Graduates
- Completed ERAS Application
- Ï㽶ֱ²¥ – ERAS Addendum Form (only needed upon invitation for an interview)
- Personal Statement
- Current Curriculum Vitae (in chronological order and current)
- Three Letters of Recommendation
- Program Director’s Letter/Certification (if any previous residency training in U.S)
- Dean's Letter
- Medical School Transcripts
- USMLE and/or COMPLEX Exam Report
- Wallet Sized Photograph (Required for verification purposes)
International Medical Graduate
- Completed ERAS Application
- Ï㽶ֱ²¥ – ERAS Addendum Form (only needed upon invitation for an interview)
- Personal Statement

- Program Director’s Letter/Certification (if had previous residency training in U.S)

- Notarized copy of diploma (only needed upon interview invitation)
- Clerkship Affidavit (only needed upon interview invitation)
- ECFMG Certificate (original needed at interview)
- USMLE and/or COMPLEX Exam Report

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine has adopted a policy of accepting only international medical graduates with J-1 visas or permanent resident green card holder into the residency training programs.
Minimum Requirements
- No minimum score requirements
- Categorical program
- If transferring into program, successful completion of one year of broad clinical experience in general Internal Medicine from a program accredited by the ACGME (or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada) and receipt of a passing grade on the USMLE Step 3 exam.
Please note that in order to be considered, all applicants must be eligible to apply for a Texas license and also be able to comply with the requirements set forth by the Graduate Medical Education Department of Ï㽶ֱ²¥.
