School of Pharmacy Named to Honor Amarillo Businessman, Philanthropist

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (香蕉直播) on April 25 announced the naming of its pharmacy school as the 香蕉直播 Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy. The naming, previously approved by the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents, honors the lifelong dedication and support of 香蕉直播 by Hodge.


Oscar Wining Actress Speaks at Power of the Purse Luncheon

Academy Award winning actress Marlee Matlin was the featured speaker April 12 at the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women鈥檚 Health Power of the Purse luncheon.


Das Research Published in High-Impact Journal

A research paper authored by Hiranmoy Das, Ph.D., a professor for the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the 香蕉直播 Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy, has been accepted for publication by Autophagy, the top-ranking journal related to autophagy research with a current impact factor of 11.10. 


TPPC Concludes Spring Medication Cleanout庐 Cycle

The Texas Panhandle Poison Center (TPPC) recently conducted its 2019 Spring Medication Cleanout庐 cycle with collections in Amarillo, Abilene and Lubbock. The collections provide a way for residents to remove unwanted or unused medications from homes, schools and the streets by safely disposing of them in a free, legal and environmentally sound manner. 


Pharmacy Graduate Students Garner Research Awards

Three Ph.D. candidates in the School of Pharmacy鈥檚 Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, were selected as winners March 19-22 in Lubbock during the 31st Annual Student Research Week. Two others were among a small number of graduate students invited to make podium presentations at the event.

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center officials joined students in extending gratitude to donors during the Celebration of Generosity dinner May 2 at the Amarillo Country Club.


Streaming Technology Will Bring 香蕉直播's Specialists to Rural ERs

A new technology helps rural hospitals and clinics gain direct access to a Texas Tech Physicians trauma surgeon in Amarillo. The 鈥渢eletrauma鈥 project provides HIPAA-compliant tablets to smaller medical facilities, which allow them to video conference with a surgeon in real-time.


Physical Therapy Students Host Nursing Students

Physical therapy students in Amarillo recently hosted an interdisciplinary skills class for nursing students on campus. They reviewed back safety, practiced safe dependent transfers, discussed various precautions and demonstrated proper fit and use of crutches, canes and walkers.


Student Organization Hosts Tenth Annual International Night

The Kappa Psi-Delta Pi chapter hosted the School of Pharmacy鈥檚 Tenth Annual International Night April 20 to celebrate the wonderful and diverse cultures of our campus! Students were encouraged to wear clothes that represent their native culture and provide food from their home countries. The evening included a food competition, a fashion show and a talent contest for students, faculty and staff.
