Great College to Work For – Workplace Recognition
A Great College to Work For
Based on the results of an employee engagement survey administered by ModernThink and the Great Colleges to Work For program, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (㽶ֱ) is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for! The 2024 recognition marks the fifth time the university has been awarded, in addition to 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
2024 also marks the third consecutive year for 㽶ֱ to be named on the Great Colleges Honor Roll, a status granted to only 42 colleges each year which are highlighted most across the recognition categories.
This year, in five categories:
- Job satisfaction and support
- Compensation and benefits
- Professional development
- Shared governance
- Faculty experience
The results, released in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on a survey of 216 colleges and universities. In all, 75 of those institutions achieved Great College to Work For® recognition for specific best practices and policies. Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with 㽶ֱ included among the medium universities.
2024 Recognition Areas
The Great Colleges to Work For® program is one of the largest and most respected workplace recognition programs in the country. All of the program analysis was conducted by ModernThink, an organizational development firm with particular survey and “Best Place to Work” expertise.
The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire that captured employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was employee feedback.
