Scholarship Opportunities

A scholarship is a type of financial aid that does not need to be repaid and may be awarded on the basis of merit, service, leadership, and/or academic program. Below are scholarship opportunities awarded by the Division of Institutional Excellence & Culture. Please take note of due dates to ensure your application is reviewed.

Texas Hispanic-Serving Institutions Consortium Scholarship

The Texas Hispanic-Serving Institutions Consortium (TxHSIC) seeks to increase the access, retention, and success of students from Texas Hispanic-Serving Institutions. As a federally-designated Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and member of the Consortium, Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ is pleased to offer two (2) one-time scholarships each in the amount of $1,000 to be applied to the recipients' Student Business Services account for the Spring 2024 semester. To be eligible, applicants will meet the below criteria:

      • Undergraduate student enrolled in at least 12 Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ credit hours for Spring 2024
      • Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0*
      • Demonstrated financial need

Please note: applicants of all races and ethnicities are given equal consideration for this award.

Those who are interested and meet the above criteria are expected to submit an application by the deadline. Application materials include submission of:

      • Screenshot of Spring 2024 class schedule
      • Unofficial transcript
      • 350-500 word essay: How will you use your educational journey at Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ to enhance healthcare for underserved populations?
      • 100-200 word essay: What opportunities exist for Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ to further embody its designation as a Hispanic-Serving Institution while also promoting a culture of 'servingness' for all communities?
