Program Director's Welcome

The mission of the Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ Emergency Medicine Residency Program is to enhance the quality of emergency care throughout West Texas by the provision of board-certified, residency-trained emergency physicians to the region.  These emergency physicians will achieve a high level of clinical competence through training in a tertiary care teaching hospital and Level 1 trauma center as well as other GME clinical learning environments where they receive the ability to provide personalized, compassionate patient care for a wide variety of emergent and complex conditions.

A successful residency program at its core places the residents first.  We will encourage residents to be the fabric of our learning environment and will rely upon constant feedback from them to create ongoing, positive changes.  We believe that residents will help shape our program and operation, while remaining active learners throughout the educational experience.

We look forward to meeting you and helping you develop a passion for emergency medicine.
