Madison Bishop, LMFT

Senior Therapist

Maddie specializes in working with couples and families, as well as individuals. Her experience in systems theories allows her to work with several different units and ranges in topics such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, and stress management. Maddie attempts to utilize a client’s own strengths and resources to overcome whatever distress they are currently experiencing. She graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. Maddie is trained in EMDR Therapy

Therapist

Tammy graduated from Ï㽶ֱ²¥ School of Health Professions with a Master’s of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Tammy utilizes multiple modalities in therapy with individuals and is trained in EMDR Therapy. She believes that each individual is the expert for their own life experiences and empowers them with tools to reach their goals. She has a desire for working with individuals in crisis and those who have experienced trauma. She enjoys spending time with her four children and pets or reading a good book. Tammy is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and supervised by Robert Ragland, LPC-S.

Therapist

Kinsey completed her master’s degree in Counselor Education at Texas Tech University, and formerly completed her bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Kinsey is passionate about working alongside people, to improve their lives, one day at a time. She is particularly interested in working with issues or challenges surrounding perinatal care ( I.E. pre, during, or post pregnancy) , relationships, disabilities, parenting, grief and loss, and life transitions. Kinsey enjoys reading, dancing, listening to music, and spending time with her family and fur-babies. Kinsey is supervised by Kristie Collins, LPC-S, LMFT-S.

Managing Director 

Kristie has a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. She has been with The Counseling Center since 2015. She is trained in both EMDR Therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and has a passion for working with clients who have experienced trauma. Her therapeutic style utilizes both CBT and a Solutions Focused approach. Kristie believes her role as a therapist is to encourage, educate, and train clients to become the author of their own stories.

Mandy Fair,  LMFT-S

Therapist

Mandy is a Licensed Marriage  and Family Therapist. She has over 18 years of experience in grief counseling, PTSD, substance abuse, and mental health treatment. Mandy realized her love of working with people when she began working with the Rape Crisis Center in 1999. After receiving her BS from Texas Tech University, she entered the Air Force. She moved back to Lubbock after seven years and worked at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for nine years. She has worked at LCJJC and The Ranch at Dove Tree. Mandy enjoys spending time with her family that includes three kids and her best friend, also known as her husband. Mandy’s passion lies in encouraging and empowering people to find joy and peace in their lives and how relationships play a part in that journey. Mandy is trained in EMDR Therapy

Natalie Harryman, LMFT

Therapist

Natalie, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), specializes in working with individuals, couples, and families who have experienced grief and trauma. Natalie is trained in modalities such as EMDR Therapy and brain spotting techniques. For couples seeking relational therapy, Natalie’s therapeutic approach includes Emotionally Focused Therapy, but may include other modalities as necessary. Natalie received her Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies from Lubbock Christian University in 2017 and received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University in 2020.

Rebecca Hyman, LPC

Senior Therapist

Rebecca is a Licensed Professional Counselor with an MS in Counseling from Lubbock Christian University. She has worked with survivors of domestic violence since 2012, and is trained in TF-CBT and EMDR Therapy. Rebecca believes in the resiliency and strength inherent within each person, and primarily utilizes a combination of person-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapies to meet clients where they currently are on their journeys.

Taylor Johnston, LPC

Therapist

Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas Tech University. He graduated with his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Texas Tech University College of Education in 2021. Taylor works from a collaborative, strengths-based approach utilizing Solution-Focused, Dialectical and Rogerian theories. Taylor has been a member of the Lubbock Police Crisis Intervention Team where he provided care and assistance to victims of crisis, suicide and suicidal ideologies. He also worked in career counseling at the Texas Tech Career Center, where he promoted success with students’ career exploration and development. Taylor still enjoys playing competitive golf, and on the weekends he can be caught playing golf and spending time with his wife and son. Taylor is trained in both EMDR Therapy and Brainspotting Therapies.

Dr. Alan Korinek, LMFT-S

Associate Director 

Dr. Korinek has worked at the Health Sciences Center since 1998 and he has served as Managing Director of the EAP and PAS since 2004. He earned his Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Dr. Korinek is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and he is an Approved Supervisor for AAMFT. Dr. Korinek enjoys doing therapy with couples when his schedule allows. He also enjoys providing clinical supervision to the Counseling Center staff and consulting with supervisors, managers, and administrators regarding behavioral health concerns.

Toni is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. She graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2021. Toni previously worked as a career counselor which has helped inform her strengths-based approach to counseling. Toni believes that having a toolbox that addresses areas of our distress; depression, grief, anxiety, and trauma, among others, gives us the opportunity to successfully maneuver, and thrive in our lives. The right tools are those we can call upon when needed and effectively use to gain balance and clarity. Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a person-centered approach, Toni works with clients to help them find the right tools so they can live their best lives. Toni is supervised by Robert Ragland, LPC-S. Toni is trained in EMDR Therapy

Veronica is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX.  Most recently, she graduated from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with a Master’s of Science  in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  She works from a collaborative, strengths-based approach utilizing CBT and Solution-Focused Therapies.  Through her work, Veronica strives to foster a safe space where clients can tell their story and help them to develop a new reality that is more fulfilling.  She has experience working with  anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, self-esteem, anger, and stress management.  In her spare time, Veronica enjoys spending time with her family and reading a good book. Veronica is trained in EMDR Therapy

Robert Ragland, LPC-S

Senior Therapist

Robert has a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Liberty University, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He is experienced in working with people who have severe mental illness including Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar Disorder, and Personality Disorders, as well as marital issues, men’s issues, childhood trauma, and family dynamics. Robert began helping people in the Mental Health field in 2000, and has had the privilege to walk with individuals and couples through difficult times. This experience has given him the perspective that even though we may face extraordinary challenges, if provided with the right tools and understanding, overcoming becomes natural. Robert is trained in EMDR Therapy.

Bryanna Vandygriff, M.S., LPC-Associate, completed her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and formerly completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Texas Tech University. Bryanna is passionate about meeting individuals where they are and helping them discover their inner strength through using a blend of person-centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Bryanna has experience working with children and individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and stress management. In her spare time Bryanna enjoys spending quality time with her family and reading a good book. Bryanna is supervised by Kristie Collins, LPC-S, LMFT-S.

Emma specializes in addiction and recovery, emotional regulation, trauma, and stress management. She has a Master’s degree in Counselor Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from TTU. Emma utilizes a multi-modal approach to help individuals learn about themselves in a safe and relaxing environment. She enjoys creating art and spending time with her Australian shepherd, Bear. Emma is supervised by Kriste Collins, LPC-S, LMFT-S

Trista Dearing O'Quinn, LMFT-Associate

UMC Therapist

Trista received her Master of Science degree in Couples, Marriage, and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University. She has experience working with couples, individuals, and families through the various stages of development and life transitions. Trista has been trained to work with couples using the Gottman Theory Approach and some Emotion Focused Therapy techniques as well. She has also has experience working with co-occurring disorders, suicidal ideation and self-injury, infidelity, intimate partner violence, addiction, and many other common issues that accompany traumatic experiences and life transitions. Trista has a passion to work with women and couples who struggle with perinatal and postpartum mental health disorders as well as infertility issues. Trista creates a safe and beneficial environment by tailoring her therapeutic approach for each client. She often uses a Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems modalities with some Cognitive Behavioral and Emotion Focused techniques. Trista enjoys spending time with her husband, her two fur babies, and caring for her array of plants. Trista is supervised  by  Heather Austin-Robillard, PhD, LMFT-S.

Krayah specializes in grief and bereavement and helping individuals, couples, and families through life transitions. She received her Master's degree in Couples, Marriage, and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University. Krayah has experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, infidelity, suicide ideation, and grief. She is a dog mom and enjoys spending time with her husband and family. Her therapeutic approach includes Narrative Therapy and she strives to make the therapy room a safe and affirming place. Krayah is supervised by Alan Korinek, LMFT-S.

Certified First Responder Counselor

The was developed to give mental health clinicians and other individuals the tools needed to effectively reach and support first responders with cultural competence, expertise, confidence, and empathy. There are three program options available to prepare individuals from varying backgrounds and interests to help first responders heal. The Certified First Responder Counselor, Associate, and Supporter programs are online, self-paced training programs with a certification exam required at the end. All of the tracks include specialized training to help students understand the unique needs of public safety professionals. 

Informed by collaboration with officers and responders at all levels and in all areas, as well as consulting with counselors and psychologists who have experience in working in this field, the courses seamlessly blend the latest mental health and leadership approaches with real-world relevance. The curriculum was originally developed under Academy Hour by a mental health professional and training specialist who also has experience with Law Enforcement and First Responders.
