Keri ShipletKeri Shiplet

Keri Shiplet has worked professionally in Student Engagement and Development in and outside of the state of Texas for the past 18 years. She has worked in the areas of student organizations, student government, leadership development, programming, fraternity and sorority life, and orientation. Keri earned her B.A in Communication from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM and her M.S. in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. She has served as a presenter and facilitator for national student leadership development programs. Keri currently serves as the director of the Office of Student Life that includes student health insurance, student organizations, the institutional student government association, international student programming, and annual programs that support student success. She is the advisor of the institutional student government association, supervises the operations of the student health insurance, student organizations, international student programming, and coordinates the HSC Student Affairs departments involvement in school orientations. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, watching tv and movies, reading, and spending time with family and her dogs.

Doris Hereford has been employed at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center since 2017. Doris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kaplan University and a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Texas Tech University. She oversees the daily operations of the Ï㽶ֱ²¥-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan, coordinates and hosts departmental programs and events, and facilitates the annual Future Healthcare Professionals’ Experience for the schools. Doris also works alongside the Ï㽶ֱ²¥ Division of Institutional Excellence and Culture in ensuring our student’s experiences are represented in decision-making processes and they have access to the many initiatives led by the division. When she’s not at work she enjoys being around family and friends, hanging out with her two sons, binge watching her favorite shows and traveling. Doris loves collaborating with others and supporting our students’ education and wellbeing.

Deidra Satterwhite has been employed at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center since 2012. Deidra has a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication from Lubbock Christian University and a Master of Arts in Mass Communication from Texas Tech University. She oversees the registration, management, and training of student organizations, hosts the annual Ring Ceremony, and serves as the Foster Care Liaison for the institution. When not working she enjoys playing with her two dogs, spending time with her family, going to the movies, and playing drums. Deidra is passionate about serving students as they navigate their university experience on the way to becoming healthcare professionals.

Rachel Branch
International Student Coordinator

Rachel Branch joined the Student Life team as International Student Coordinator in July of 2024. She organizes and leads workshops, training sessions, and orientations for our international students. She also supports and advises international students on a variety of day-to-day issues. Rachel has been working in education for over 13 years as an English instructor for international adults. She has taught English in higher education settings in China, Mongolia and Saudi Arabia. She has worked as an English instructor for the TTU International Teaching Assistant summer workshop six times, and has also taught for Portland State University, Austin Community College, South Plains College, and several private language schools. In addition, Rachel has taught English to Iraqi embassy and parliament members for two projects with the U.S. Department of State. Rachel received her M.A. in Classics and later in Applied Linguistics, both from Texas Tech University. When she’s not busy raising her two cats, Rachel loves to spend time with friends and family, play roller derby, and travel the world.

Jacob OlsonJacob Olson

Jacob Olson is a recent graduate of Texas Tech University. He has been part of the Student Life team since August 2023. After graduating from Texas Tech, he will attend the University of Oklahoma to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration. When he is not working, Jacob enjoys playing with his dog and spending time with friends.
