Fostering a Culture that Supports and Empowers

Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Internal Medicine provides exceptional patient care, conducts research to improve health and health care delivery, and trains excellent clinician leaders and scholars. Our staff and faculty are ever-mindful of a work-life balance and strive to maintaining a culture that promotes positivity and empowerment.

Internal Medicine Research

Our faculty have won many research awards and are internationally recognized for their scholarly pursuits. There are currently five endowed chairs within the Department of Internal Medicine that promote research. We also have several large collaborative research groups: Texas Tech Cancer Research Group, Center for Renal and Urologic Research Group, Cardiovascular Research Group, GI/ID Research Group. 

Our electronic journal publishes original articles, reviews, commentary on public policy, educational updates, case reports, images, and letters. Editor-in-chief Kenneth Nugent, MD is the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Program Director, as well as an SSCI Mentor of the Year award winner.
