Telemedicine Program
Our Telemedicine program provides community partners with an opportunity to set up health access points at their doorsteps. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Permian Basin is excited to offer quality and affordable healthcare options to communities across rural West Texas, particularly to those with limited to no healthcare access opportunities. Our model includes school-based and community-based telemedicine service options.
Services
Depending on the location, the timing of this service varies. These primary care clinics can treat non-emergent acute conditions and chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Payment options possible include Private Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and Self pay with a discounted rate per visit.
Process
Start with registering yourself by submitting all the information in the link below. You will be contacted to schedule a visit for the closest appointment time to the clinic dates offered in your location. You just show up to the clinic at one of the locations listed below on that date for your healthcare virtual provider visit.

- St. Lawrence Catholic Church (2nd & 4th Wednesday of every month 10 – 12 pm)
- Coyanosa Community Center (1st & 3rd Tuesday of every month 10 -12 pm)
- Balmorhea ISD Telemedicine (1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month 10 -12 pm)
- Garden City Community Center - Upcoming (4th Wednesday of every month 10 – 12 pm)

Medicine on the Move
Medicine on the Move is a mobile health program under the Rural and Community Engagement Division to learn and mitigate the barriers communities have in improving health outcomes. This is an initiative of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in partnership with the Permian Strategic Partnership and the Caring Foundation of Texas. The program features two mobile units that expand access to quality affordable healthcare to the people throughout the Permian Basin.
Medicine on the Move is engaged in developing trusting connections with people, schools, and community organizations by participating in fairs and regional events, health promotion outreach, providing health access points, and community clinical linkage. These interactions also give Ï㽶ֱ²¥ students and residents hands-on experience with patients and a deeper understanding of rural needs and the impact of socioeconomic factors related to health. The program has energized the Ï㽶ֱ²¥ community to volunteer and piqued interest in community health programs. Through networking, Medicine on the Move is developing a model for addressing health disparities and engaging communities in West Texas.
FAQs
Our Telehealth station uses advanced digital stethoscopes, special cameras such as otoscopes, derm cameras. Our trained presenters will use this equipment to connect you to providers in our Permian Basin Clinics.

Our goal is to provide quality and affordable healthcare to everyone. Most of our clinics offer a discounted flat rate for self-pay options per visit when the patient does not have insurance.

Our clinics currently provide only healthcare provider visits. When the patients require lab or prescriptions they will be directed to the nearest preferred locations to get those.
