Our Mission
The Office of Professional Affairs provides leadership and guidance in the development
of career-enhancing programs and employment opportunities for all students. These
programs are intended to develop and enhance professional attitudes and values, promote
a supportive atmosphere for life-long learning and emphasize continued personal and
professional development.

Krystal L. Edwards, Pharm.D., FCCP, BCPS Associate Dean for Career Development
Dr. Krystal L. Edwards is a Professor in the Ambulatory Care Division on the Texas
Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy Dallas/Fort Worth Campus.
She currently practices at a Fort Worth Outpatient VA Clinic. As Associate Dean for
Career Development, she is responsible for primary oversight of Pharm.D. student professional
career development programs and student professional organizations on all campuses
of the SOP. She also works with the Associate Dean for Professional Development to
administer the activities of the School Office of Professional Affairs and carry out
programs of the office on all SOP campuses. The two associate deans work to promote
public relations and affiliation of students, staff, and faculty with community organizations.
- Promotes professional career development of Pharm.D. students through creation and
implementation of pharmacy career awareness programs and planning;
- Oversees faculty and student involvement in professional societies to promote activities
and communication across campuses;
- Works with the Associate Dean for Professional Development to bring public recognition to student, alumni, faculty and staff accomplishments.

Kenna Payne, Pharm.D., BCPS Associate Dean for Professional Development
Dr. Kenna Payne is an Associate Professor at Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ School of Pharmacy at our Amarillo
Campus with a clinical practice focusing on inpatient family medicine. She is an alumnus
of Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ SOP, graduating in 2005. As Associate Dean for Professional Development,
she is responsible for the development of student professionalism and development
and enhancement of alumni relations on all campuses of the School of Pharmacy. She
also works with the Associate Dean for Career and Development to administer the activities
of the School Office of Professional Affairs and carry out programs of the office
on all SOP campuses. The two associate deans work to promote public relations and
affiliation of students, staff, and faculty with community organizations.
- Assists with the development of professionalism in students via curriculum (education,
remediation, and mentorship);
- Develops programming to enhance alumni relations;
- Works with the Associate Dean for Career Development to bring public recognition to

Amanda Hines Program Coordinator
Amanda Hines supports Dr. Edwards on the Dallas Campus Office of Professional Affairs.
She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Texas Tech University in 2003 and is currently
working towards a Masters degree in Higher Education. She was previously the coordinator
for Experiential Programs on the Abilene campus and joined the Professional Affairs
team in the fall of 2014. Before coming to the SOP, Amanda coordinated mission trips
for high school and junior high students all over the southeastern United States and
spent a year living in Ukraine. She is originally from Whitesboro, Texas. Amanda loves
college football (really most sports) and all things Texas Tech, has run a few half
marathons and enjoys being crafty.

Rebecca Perry Program Coordinator
Rebecca Perry supports Dr. Payne in the Amarillo Campus Office of Professional Affairs.
She was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. She started working for the Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ School
of Pharmacy in October 1999 in the Student Affairs Department. In May 2007, she transferred
to the Professional Affairs Department. Prior to her time with the SOP, Rebecca worked
in the law enforcement area. She is the mother of two wonderful sons, Derek and Sean,
and has two grandsons, Justin and JT. She enjoys gardening and outdoor activities
and participates in Special Olympics with Sean.
