Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy: Curriculum
Curriculum
The Post-Professional-OTD program curriculum requires the completion of 27 semester credit hours for individuals with a Master’s degree in occupational therapy and 33 semester credit hours for individuals with a Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy. The curriculum consists of a set of required core courses and a variety of elective courses. All students will complete the core curriculum courses. Students with a Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy take 4 elective courses and those with a Master’s degree in occupational therapy choose 2 elective courses. Courses are taught online and most courses will be taught once per year to facilitate completion of the curriculum. Students are required to successfully complete at least two courses within each academic year (defined as consecutive Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters). Each student will work with the program director to establish a degree plan upon admission to the program that is flexible and designed to best meet the student’s professional interests and goals. All curricular degree requirements must be completed in no more than five years.
