About the Doctor of Occupational Therapy

The Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) online program is an exciting new health care degree offered by the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Health Professions. This recently launched online degree program is designed for licensed occupational therapists who have earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational therapy and want to elevate their professional occupational therapy degree to the doctoral level.

The online OTD program provides licensed occupational therapists with the advanced knowledge and practice skills needed to elevate their professional competencies, advance their careers, and position them for leadership roles within the health care environment and in the occupational therapy profession.

Online Degree Flexibility for Occupational Therapy Professionals

The post-professional OTD is offered fully online, allowing students the flexibility to participate in academic studies while maintaining their employment as an occupational therapist. The program format is also an ideal method for professionals to immediately apply what they learn
in the program to real-world professional OTD practice situations.

 

Accreditation: The Online Doctor of Occupational Therapy

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center post-professional OTD program has been approved by the Texas Higher Educational Coordinating Board (THECB). This new degree offering will begin accepting applications in January 2020 for a start date of May 25, 2020. The Post-Professional OTD will officially begin accepting applications following final regional accreditation approval.
