FMLA
FMLA requires covered employers to provide up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave to an eligible employee for certain family medical reasons. A resident is eligible if she/he has worked at Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ at least 12 months and a minimum of 1,250 hours over the previous 12 months.
Parental LOA
Parental leave of absence, not to exceed 12 weeks, is available for a resident with less than one year of service or who has worked less than 1,250 hours in the 12-month period immediately preceding the commencement of leave. This leave is available only after the resident has utilized all available paid vacation and sick leave.
A leave of absence is defined as the interval when all accumulated vacation and/or sick leave time has been exhausted. The Campus of GME Committee must approve a leave longer than 30 days, exclusive of FMLA or Parental Leave.
The individual monthly premium is furnished by Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯. A $5000 term life insurance
policy & accidental death & dismemberment coverage is included. Coverage for dependents
is available at the resident's expense. Long-term Disability is provided by Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯
for all residents & eligible dependents.
There is a monthly payroll deduction for any eligible dependents that are on the Housestaff
Health Plan.

*If a spouse has eligible coverage through their employer, they are not allowed on
our plan.
Coverage for resident is at the level of $100,000-$300,000 while participating in Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ training activities. This does not cover any moonlighting activity.
